Serious Skin Care: What You Should be Using On Your Face

As with all skin care/cosmetic products, there are many options to choose from when selecting face products. Not including the different brands of face products, there are cleansers, exfoliators, moisturizers, toners, lotions.. the list goes on and on. To determine the right products for your skin, you should consider what these products actually are.

Cleansers

When looking at cleansers, there are many different types of cleaning products that will all do the job well. Detemining what product is best for you and your washing preferences is half the fun of trying new cleansers. When looking into cleansers, there are many different kinds you can try:

Face Creams: Face creams are good to start with when using face products, because they're extremely easy to use. The best part of face creams is that you can never use to much or too little!
Foams: Foams are similar to face creams, in that they clean your face and can't be used too much. Foams are also convenient because they're easy to use and don't require anything additional (you don't need to use a face cloth with foams).
Make Up Removers: Make up removers are a staple in any girl's cleaning schedule. Whether the make up remover is all you use or not, it's something that every girl keeps in the house. When choosing the right make up remover, don't rule out baby wipes! They work wonders on your face.
Face Cloths: Face cloths that require only water to wash are also great face products. These cloths (which are my personal favourite) are easy to use, and come in many different types (moisturizing, exfoliating, etc.). Not only do you get your face washed conveniently, but you also get to pick the right product for your skin type.

Exfoliators

Once you've chosen a good cleanser, you can start looking into other cleaning products. An exfoliator is a good product to keep on hand, however, not to be used everyday. Exfoliators remove dry and dead skin from the face, helping to keep the skin refreshed and soft. When choosing an exfoliator, those with beads are best because they help to scrub without scratching the sensitive skin of your face.

Moisturizers

There are several different kinds of moisturizers that you can choose from. Moisturizers are made for specific body parts, because some areas need more attention than others. When choosing a moisturizer, look for something that suits your skin type. If you have oily skin, look for water based lotions. If you have super-dry skin, look for something with extreme care. Choosing a lotion that fits your skin type will ensure the product is more effective, and means you'll like the product that much more.

Toners

Toners are good as a finishing product, because they help to seal in the moisture and tighten your pores. This keeps your entire face much softer and smoother looking.
