Five Must-Haves for a Luxury Bath

In our fast-paced, stressful day-to-day lives, it's sometimes hard to grab a couple of minutes for yourself in order to relax. If you've got yourself a half-hour, though, the best way to relax yourself might just be by having that long, warm bubble bath that you didn't know you were craving.

Below are the five things you need to make every bath as relaxing as possible for yourself.

1. Bubbles. There is nothing more relaxing than a bubble bath, especially if you have one that is scented. When looking for a relaxing scent, try something like lavender or chamomile – both these scents are used by people who practice aromatherapy for their soothing and relaxing qualities.
2. Something to drink. Both tea and wine can be very relaxing in a bath, although wine may be more to your liking if you'd rather not be drinking something hot while sitting in a warm bath. If you do decide to go with tea, try a herbal or decaffeinated tea – the caffeine has a tendency to give you an energy boost, which is the opposite of what you're trying to do with your bath.
3. Candles. Whether they are scented or not, candles have a soothing effect on people - especially if you can get lost in staring at the flickering flame for a while. If you're going for a scented candle, choose a scent that is complementary to your bubble bath.
4. Soothing music. We're not normally talking heavy metal or hip-hop here, but if that's what relaxes you then it’s probably the best choice for you. Recommended is soft instrumental music that won't distract you from your relaxation.
5. A soft towel and bathrobe for when the bath is over. There’s nothing nicer than getting out of a bath and completely wrapping yourself up in a soft, warm bathrobe. If you have used a scented bubble bath, one way to bring the relaxing scent with you when you get out of the bath is to spray a little bit of essential oil or a linen fragrance on your towel and bathrobe in the same scent as your bubble bath beforehand. This way, even after you're finished in the bath, you can still bring those soothing scents with you.
